New grad looking for part-time work

I am a student but starting to set expectations for working someday . I understand that a new nurse will need some training and will need to pay some dues. I went in hoping to be able to work part-time. PRN is fine with me 2 shifts a week is ideal but 1 is enough. I don't need benifits. Are there part-time jobs out there for new grads or do I need to set my expecations for a full time job for a while??
I can only speak for my organization, but I feel that we follow the same general guidelines as most others. We only hire new graduates into full time positions because that's the only way that we can facilitate the necessary and consistent competency development process within a reasonable timeframe. Keep in mind that (with 12 hour shifts), full time means working 3 days a week.... so it shouldn't be too disruptive. You can always opt out of benefits & this will probably result in more take-home pay.
