feeling so discouraged.Rating: (votes: 0) It is so frustrating! We worked so hard to get our degree and our license! Comment: I am an LVN New Grad & I totally understand. I don't get how they expect you to have experience if no one will give you a chance. I've been working for the last few months for a Temp Agency. Some employers don't require experience such as Utilization Review Nurses or Case Managers. Try Insurance companies or a Temp Agency. You can't give up cause that won't solve anything. :heartbeatComment: Keep looking...I graduated in June 2010, got my license in July, and didn't get a job until September 1, 2010. I started in the hospitals because that is where I really wanted to be, but I think the sad reality is they just can't hire all of us! Look into skilled nursing, rehab, and mental health even. There are plenty of jobs there, as the population is aging! I work in a rehab facility, which at first I thought was going to be a bunch of geriatric patients with broken hips and dementia. As it turns out, I love my job and have worked with patients with traumatic brain injuries, all sorts of ortho surgeries, and I have gotten tons of experience with IV starts/meds, lab draws, picc lines, g tubes, physical assessment, wound care, the list continues!!! So don't lose hope. You WILL get a job, but it may take some time. And my favorite instructor once said some very wise words to me that I will pass along..."Your first job may not be your dream job, but your dream job may not turn out to be your dream job." I hope this helps! Good luck!
