License practical nurses need to be aware of getting endoresment in the state of Georgia. If you are thinking about moving to Georgia and you are a LPN you need to make sure before you even apply for endorement that you graduated from a regionally accreditted school. The state of georgia only accepts regionally accredited schools, they will not license you if you graduated from a national accredited school. It does not state it plainlly on the application and the fee's you will pay will not be refunded. There is no appeal process for getting your license and there is nothing to do to obtain your license. It is state law in georgia and it would take changing the law in order to gain your license in georgia. Please be aware before you move or you will not be able to work as a nurse here. I found out the hard way, currently am tring to work as a CNA again. Please beware it will crush your career.
Good warning to all because (unfortunately) each state's BON can set their own requirements for endorsement--it's not automatically granted. It's a good practice to contact the BON if you have any questions about whether you are eligible for endorsement before you start the process.OP: I'm sorry this happened to you. I don't know where you are located in GA, but if you are near a border, perhaps getting endorsement in one of the connecting states is an option--then you can work across the border.
