Change in career need adviceRating: (votes: 0) I came accross this site on a day where I became very discouraged by the whole schooling process. I am a 31 year old who currently works in the Financial Services industry and have decided that I am sick of sales and want my life to have purpose and meaning. I had always wanted to work in the medical field, in fact I started my undergrad as a pre-med major before I was quickly weeded out. Ultimately I graduated with a BA in Psychology but in 2003 fell quickly into a sales job and so the story goes here I am, hating my corporate job and wanting to make a life change. My husband and I recently relocated to the Northeast and I am working full time as an office manager while going back to school very part time on weekends and evenings. I am working on my pre-requisitns (one being a psyc class funny enough) and am strating to get a little discouraged because I am seeing that the process to get into actual nursing classes is NOT what it used to be, wait-lists, GPA requirements, etc. So I am looking for some advice and maybe moral support....here are my questions 1. More than likely I will be transfering to another school within the next 6-8 months, right now I matriculated in 15 credits from my BA to the program I am in now, I am taking Chem and A&P1 thus far. Will the GPA transfer or only the credits. 2. Is there a possibility of not getting into a different program without an outstanding GPA? 3. Do you recommend I begin studying for a nurse entrance exam even if the current program I am does not requrie it? 4. How does a person go about getting a job and SOME experience even if its just clearical in the medical field to start making contacts, where I am is not going to get me anywhere after I graduate. Thanks Hopelessly enduring |
