Looking to travel nurseRating: (votes: 0) The reality? I don't know of any organization that would accept a travel nurse with less than 5 years of experience in the area in which they are going to be working. Travel nurses are expected to "hit the ground running" with a very high level of clinical expertise. They cost a lot more than employed staff, so employers are not willing to provide a paid orientation to develop skills that they were supposed to have in the first place. "Orientation" will consist of just the bare minimum that is required. Travel nurses in specialty areas are expected to have specialty certification. |
