Part time work- what kind?Rating: (votes: 0) ![]() If you've got good CS skills you might like phone triage. Try fonemed. Also, there are several services in our area that provide insurance screening, and they are always looking for per diem. hth. Comment:
I've never felt the desire or need to work part time. Are you bored on your days off? Or do you need the money? In other words why are you even looking for part time work? Maybe you could find a part time job in a nursing area but one that is less stressful???? This might lead you to a full time position in an area you enjoy more than where you are now?I work out patient surgery. It is fun, easy, low stress, no nights, weekends, holidays. We use part time staff.

I would hazard a guess that a part time job within the nursing field would pay the most? But might end up being stressful? I would look around at part time nursing jobs just to see what is out their. Otherwise????? with the holidays coming up some department store??? Any job can be stressful???

Flu shot clinics are starting to ramp up this time of year. Also some staffing agencies are contracting for health fair nurses and wellness clinics. Kind of a nice break from the world of inpatient care. My only advice if you're interested is to apply for lots of agencies so you have a lot of flexibility for picking your hours.

When I asked this question to a friend of mine, he suggested I look at Concentra, a company that does employee health fairs. They use nurses on a per diem basis. You can also check Craigslist for freelance nursing opportunities... I know an LPN who stays pretty busy just on those leads.

I took on a part time job doing home health because I was getting so many call offs at work. I've found it near impossible to juggle the schedules/time off, and holiday requirements. I love the part time job- but tonight is my last official night. (though agreed to stay on staff to be called to cover sick calls)

Private duty nursing. I guess there are some "tweeners" out there who need help w/ their elderly parents essentially "sitting" and doing light-duty housework.
