Graduate Nurse Positions in DC/NOVARating: (votes: 0) ![]() ![]() This is becoming the norm around the county. Alot of places not willing to hire GNs, or there are simply just no positions available. My first job was as a GN and we were in a bridge to practice program and everyone was GNs, there was a stipulation that if we did not pass our boards that we were fired. I think out of the 16 that started before i left i think there was maybe 11 of us. i think 4 people didn't pass and 1 got canned for a **** poor attitude (and rightfully so). What I'm trying to get at is that the hospitals (some at least) are short on cash and to train you and then run the risk of you not passing your boards is ******* money away to say the least. I think that you have a better chance if you already have you're license and then apply for a job. It makes you a bit more marketable and because you have exp as an aide helps you case, a little bit. Granted this is just my opinion, but good luck to you. Comment:
MrsPratt06...did you have better luck finding a job after you got your license? I just graduated in Dec. My husband and I got stationed here in July and I went back to Missouri for my last semester of school, now I'm back. I've applied everywhere and have had no luck wanted to see how things worked out
