What does a letter like E or R mean in your credential number as a registered nurse?Rating: (votes: 0) BTW, I passed my NCLEX 2nd time is a charm. Thanks you guys-Allnurses are awesome! Congrats! Each state has it's own quirky way of numbering licenses. Some use "L" or "R" followed by several numbers, presumably to differentiate LPN's from RN's. All in all, who cares? You passed, you are a Nurse, no matter what else they call you, and nobody can take that away from you, ever! Comment:
yeah here in NY we use all numbers so I couldn't tell ya. But congrats to you!!!!!!
Comment:
ask the BON. I imagine it is just an identifier but won't hurt to ask
Comment:
My license starts with RN and then some numbers. Coincidentally, I am a registered nurse
Comment:
Vermont licenses are all numbers; LPN starts with 025, RN starts with 026.
