Can CNAs/volunteers pick which area?Rating: (votes: 0) [FONT=Arial Narrow] [FONT=Arial Narrow]Thanks for the help! [FONT=Arial Narrow] [FONT=Arial Narrow]~WannabeNurse(: I was able to pick the area I wanted to volunteer in. It all depends though on whether they need volunteers in that area or not though. Comment:
[FONT=Arial Narrow]Thanks for the information, gymnut! I think I'm going to PM you to ask some more about being a volunteer, if that's okay?[FONT=Arial Narrow][FONT=Arial Narrow]~WannabeNurse(:

Try volunteering at a children's hospital, that way you will be on a pedi floor no matter what! Good luck, I am really enjoying my time as a volunteer.

Generally you can pick where you volunteer, but at least at the hospital I volunteer at they wait about six months to put you in a patient-interacting position, mostly to make sure that you're not some crazy psycho. I volunteer on the postpartum unit myself, and have the opportunity to go to NICU or Peds if I want to. :redpinkhe

[FONT=Arial Narrow]PediLove, good idea! I hadn't thought of that and there is a children's hospital around here, although it's somewhat part of another hospital.[FONT=Arial Narrow] [FONT=Arial Narrow]And nohkia, thanks for the information! I'll try to act normal if the hospital that I'll hopefully volunteer at waits six months, too [FONT=Arial Narrow] [FONT=Arial Narrow]~WannabeNurse(:
