What is the difference in Surgery and OR?

I'm a new nurse and looking at different positions. I would love to work in the OR. There is a position open for Surgery 2 in the local hospital. Is it similar to the OR? Last edit by butterflyflower on Mar 3, '11
I have never hear the term "Surgery 2'. Different hospitals often have different names and terms for positions so the only way to get a correct answer would be to ask the source directly.

Comment:
My guess is that it is a general surgical floor and not an OR job. I used to work on general surgery and it mostly involved taking care of patients pre- and post-surgery, although we certainly did have our share of other patients thrown in as well. Also, when I say "post-surgery," I do not mean PACU. General surgery for me involved caring for patients until they recovered enough to be discharged. Hope this helps!
