Indreams84,Not at all trying to give you a hard time, just looking out for you. You have given way way too much identifying info.... city, hosptital, unit and that you are one of the very few two year grads. That's just asking for trouble, big trouble. I'd go back and edit your entry. PS Congrats, sounds like a great opportunity you earned.

I work in a Magnet hospital and both of the new grads hired for the Critical Care Nurse residency were ADNs. Both grads of Wisconsin's technical colleges, as am I.That said I am not sure working at a Magnet hospital is anything to brag about. They are developing a reputation as not being good places to work.

I've been an RN at a Magnet hospital for the past 22 yrs, started out as a 2 yr RN. 13 yrs in a med/surg transplant ICU taught me to ask questions and more questions..I was precepting a 4 yr RN who asked..."How did you get to know all that you do, when you're only a 2 yr RN...."By asking questions!". I have since completed my BSN and am in management. Still asking questions and being the best patient and nurse advocate that I can be. From my standpoint, it's less about the degree and more about experience and common sense. Congrats to all of you new nurses!

Congratulations!! I was hired by a magnet hospital with a year of experience as an ADN years back and this year our unit hired a new grad ADN who is more impressive imo than most of the BSN new grads I have worked with on the floor.
