At what point does an inexperienced nurse have to take a RN Refresher course?

Does anyone know, at what point will an RN who never worked as an RN have to take a refresher course to still be able to find work? How many years is it until a refresher course is needed for an inexperienced nurse who has not worked as a nurse yet?
I would start taking them right away. It wont hurt, and it shows companies that you are ambitious.

My state mandates a refresher for nurses who haven't worked for 5 years.

So its not usually necessary after 1 or 2 years, right?
