New BSN- which is best Birmingham hospital to work at?Rating: (votes: 0) I would love some insight as far as friendliness of staff, turnover rate, opportunities to advance, salaries, use of new technology, how respected RNs are, overall environment of the hospital (food/parking/cleanliness). Also if you have had any negative experiences with particular units/hospitals, feel free to share. Thank you SO much in advance! HI, to be honest the market is really competative in Birmingham. I am a new Grad and it took me till August to get a job. I had been looking since April. I believe that any of the Hospitals in B'ham would be fine. I like Uab personally, they have been great answered all of my questions without making me feel silly.I would look at what you like as far as units. You can go to UAB nursing .org and look up the Units at Uab. It will tell you what the patient to nurse Ratio is as well as the type of patients you will deal with.Good Luck. Comment:
I would suggest Trinity Medical Center Hospital on Montclair Rd. excellent place to work! Go online there to trinitymedicalcenter.com. I know nurses who have left Veteran's Hospital,Brookwood, St.Vincent's, UAB to work here. Princeton Medical Center is another good hospital to work at. you can go online to any of these hospitals have been in nursing 11years now have worked at other places and love Trinity, only there for 2 yrs now.

Really you should think about what type of Unit or floor you want to work at first. I currently work in an ICU at UAB and even though I love UAB I would always take a Unit over a floor no matter the hospital. but I cant even think about having 9 pts. like some of my old classmates have had.
