New nurse dilemaRating: (votes: 0) No, never let them no directly that you have other interviews. A discerning hiring manager should already have figured that out. If you say that, then it could come off as giving the impression that you are not really enthusiastic about seeking employment with them, as if you were saying 'This is not my number one choice to work at, but I applied anyway just in case.' Just keep those thoughts to your self. When you interview, be enthusiastic about the opportunity, as if it were the only place you applied too. Don't forget to send a thank you note soon after the interviewer for taking time with you. You'll make a better impression. Comment:
Thanks for the reply! Next question if I get hired then the hospital offers me the better job how do I tell the new job hey no thanks anymore?

Just tell them that you appreciate the offer, but are obliged to accept the offer. Don't feel bad about doing it either, because you have to look out for you. Of course, I wouldn't try to apply there again in the future, but you know. The nursing home can always find someone else. Besides, they have high turn over anyway. Just be direct and show your appreciation. Give proper notice if you can. Do not burn bridges in your departure. Never know who you'll need again.
