What paraphernalias do you usually bring and use in the ward? The things you should not forget.
I always have a highlighter, sharpie, sissors, carpuject in my pocket. I use these things daily

Varies by work setting. In most acute care, a good stethoscope is important. I have arthritis in my hands and for all those little things you have to grasp-pinch-twist-pull... I need hemostats in my pocket. If you have to do neuro checks have a good pen-light (and always check the batteries before work!) Scissors for sure. I have a stash of pens 'cuz I'm always putting one down and losing them, and waste time scrounging around for one.) Have a list of all necessary phone numbers with you or easily available. Mostly tho' it's the tool between your ears that matters most.

Quote from ObtundedRNI hate it when i forget my hair clip .From my EMS training: "The most important tools are your brain, hands, and stethoscope."And for working in the hospital I like to add, good scissors (I like my trauma shears), pen, penlight, and sharpie. And while it isn't a "must have" I do always carry my Tubex injector (I find it to be much better than a carpuject). It isn't a neccessity for work, but it makes things easier when you have someone requiring lots of IV push narcs. And when I start my shift, I always pick up some alcohol wipes and those sterile red caps to keep unattached IV lines clean.
