I am trying to figure out to what level of Bloom's taxonomy belong questions about confidentiality in nursing. For example, from info you given you need to choose situation when sharing patient's info considered a breach of confidentiality.
Thank you.
http://www.teach-nology.com/workshee..._savers/bloom/I'm not sure of your exact situation, but I thought these verbs listed by category would help. I guess the way I would approach this is the same way that I would for a science lesson. I hope this will point you in the right direction. Is this for a class assignment?deAnna

I think answering questions about confidentiality related to a patient's information fit in the evaluation stage, but can also see how they fit in all the other stages as well. I think you need more specific information on situation in order to answer the question you've asked.

More information is needed for us to be sure. It could be a straightforward application question, depending on how it is asked. For example, it you have brief discriptions of situations and ask, "For each situation, it is a breach of confidentiality?" you are determining whether or not the student can recognize a breach when they see one. That requires basic knowledge and understanding of what constitutes a breach and the ability to apply that knowledge to described situations. If the situations are pretty straightforward, not much analysis would be required. But if the situations were more complicated, analysis of the situations might be required and maybe even evaluation. Synthesis could even be required if the most advanced situations if the student were being asked to make a judgment similar to that made by a high court that "makes laws" through the interpretation of the law in relation to the cases brought before those courts. The levels of the taxonomy and not that simple or "black and white." Neither the topic nor the format of the question automatically determines the level of intellectual processes needed to answer the questions. It's more complicated than that and you have to really think through the specific questions and look at the intellectual processes that are needed to correctly answer the question to answer your question about the taxonomy.

How about other levels? Knowledge or comprehension? Does this question fit to these levels?
