"Wellness Nurse" - but not a NURSE position.

I was going to send this to a nursing buddy of mine, but read further and saw it is not a nurse position, but a nursing asst. position. I have nothing against CNAs, but I just do not like the job title they have bestowed.
Isn't "nurse" a protected title?
In. most states, if not all, it is. If I were you, I would make the BON aware of this and let them decide what, if anything, to do about it.

This position is in Delaware. I found this online : DelawareSection 1. 1920, Title 24, Delaware Code (2010) (d) Only registered nurses shall use the title nurse, the abbreviation of "R.N." or any other words, letters, signs or figures indicating that the person using the same is a registered nurse. unquestionably, the bon in your state is the proper entity to handle this issue.

Send it to the BON. A CNA is not a nurse, nor is a CNA competent for this role. That place is going to get what they pay for if they hire someone who is unqualified for the position.

looks like somebody got the message-- this is what i found when i went to the link:job requirements as the wellness nurse at fenwick island, the following is required:education/training: graduate of an approved school of nursing; current state license to practice as a licensed practical nurse.experience: a minimum of one year’s experience in related nursing position is preferred. maybe it was just an error when the it guy made the post on the website.

It looks fine. It is a nursing position, it's just that they threw in the "perform CNA duties when required" into the description.They do state that you need to have a nursing license and the duties are legit for a nurse.

Unless I missed something, but its a licensed practical nurse position. Whats wrong with the ad?

I have worked with and for, at least some people, who took great liberty with the "rules", and could not understand why anyone would be concerned, so I would assume that the change came about due to a complaint.

I read the ad and this position is a nurse position. The applicant must be an LPN. I'm not sure why they added the part about preforming CNA duties. Maybe they've had previous applicants/employees that mistakenly thought that patient care wasn't part of the job description.
