Hate when that happens!!!

Ok well tonight has just not been my night, had the resident find a kinked chest tube this am....then when I suggested for my 26 yo pt with tachycardia in the 130's might need fluids...was told that I have no idea what I am talking about....clearly not have a good shift....I hate when you leave your shift feeling like a total boob....oh well start fresh tomorrow!
we all have shifts like that, even after decades on the job. i had a patient pull out his chest tube just seconds before the surgical team entered the room on rounds. i was down the hall getting meds, and when i came back, the entire surgical team was standing around the bed while my patient waved a bloody chest tube at them and complained about how he couldn't breathe. while no one actually called me stupid, i could hear them thinking it really loudly!
