just curious.....do you visit "allnurses" when you are at work ?

Yep. I consider this to be a resource to keep on top of how nurses respond to education practices, infection trends, and the like. Allnurses.com is a pool of diverse, experienced, thoughtful professionals who have valuable input on difficult situations. Part of my job is to monitor trends and see how they will affect my facility. And it's great for killing time on slow days

Nope, no time to go on the Internet for anything . . . on breaks, if I get them, I just sit there and "veg" out

yep...I'm at work right now. I learn a lot on these boards! I'm not in a hospital, though, so my schedule allows me to take a few moments now and then to check the news, visit allnurses, etc.

I am working right now. I work in an office and have some down time and I too feel this is a great resource for nurses. I figure its better for me to come to allnurses then to play solitaire or something in my free time

YUP, absolutely, I'm comfortable that anything I post here, is not different than anything I'd say, do or stand up for at work! My work can read through anything and I'd say to management or my peers and have already said it, so it's a moot point. Yup, here at work and those skanky buggers can read through it all. I'm good with me and my posts. I'm no different at work when I post then at home. THose who are monitoring... "you have way too much time on your hands, get out of the office, help your nurses, drop your paperwork and set your priorities"what else do I need to say... aside from my home address, but they know it anyway.I pray they are monitoring me now

I do on my lunch break, don't have time to when on the clock unless its reallys slow. When I worked in school health I would always have time for AN.

Comment:
Nope, no time for that.

I'm surprised so many of you openly admit that you are online while at work. So many facilities are down-sizing staff to save money. I pass medications, do treatments, talk to anxious family members, handle emerging health problems, take new orders, and deal with the staff I supervise. I have 20-42 LTC/rehab patients, and if I have a "slow" night I take my supper break at a decent time. If I really need advise, I get it from our facility SV, or I contact a DR.
