OR nurse organizations? reading material?

Hello to all OR nurses I would like to know what kind of professional affiliations can you join as an OR nurse. What is the best for a new nurse with <1 yr experience. Can you recommend some reading materials, journals..etc? thanks so much! I want to work at OR one day... and I want to prepare myself for it
The AORN is the professional organization for OR nurses. They have a really good monthly journal that is well worth the fee for being a member in the organization.

For my preceptorship in the OR I read Alexander's Care of the Patient in Surgery. It helped me with my cases. Good luck! Also, try shadowing an OR nurse or volunteering in surgical services.
