Immunocpromised nurse

Hi all! I am 14 weeks away from starting nursing school. I am 35 with Crohn's disease on remicaide. So I am certinatly immunocompromised. The closer I get to starting school the more nervous I get. I had cdiff twice last year. Am I compromising my health to be a nurse? I really want to be a nurse, this is my second career. But like I said my anxiety is getting worse the closer I get. Am I making a safe decision? I don't want to throw this away, but I also wish to remain as healthy as possible. And there is the entire other issue of wanting to start a family!!! I was accepted to a really great program, but that can't be my only reason. I want my health, career and a family.
I just want to make sure I am making the right decisions. Any advise would be welcome! Thank you!
Have you consulted with your treating medical team to determine if nursing school & nursing is a safe choice for you with your present immune suppressed state? Start there. Most nursing programs and clinical sites require medical clearance without restriction as a condition of enrollment and continuing with the program.

Comment:
As per the Terms of Service we cannot give medical advice.....I think that only your PCP and specialists can help you make the best "medical" decision I am a nurse and I have an auto-immune disorder....I am disabled now but I worked about 10 years after my diagnosis on immuno-supressives and biologics.Yes you need to stay healthy and minimize your anxiety/stress but it is doable.I worked with a RN that had very severe Crohns.....she was never healthier then when she was pregnant.
