Starting new job soon-Advice?

Hey guys!
I am starting a new job on March 2, on a Med Surg floor... can you guys offer any advice to this newbie on what to expect and what I should be doing to prepare before I start?
Research and find information on nursing brain sheets. Esme usually has a good link to some samples and she may pop in here and share those. Other than that, just prepare yourself mentally for a wild ride for about a year or so and make up your mind before you start that you understand it will be tough and will get tougher before it gets easier. Then go in eager to learn and absorb and do so every single day. Pay attention to the time management and delegation skills that your preceptor has. These are hard to teach and to a large extent learning them is self directed. Congrats on your first nursing job!
