insulin and dialysis

1 For insulin-dependent diabetics patients in the hospital that also get sent to dialysis in the morning--do you give their insulin to them prior to sending them to dialysis? If they are going to be eating prior, I can see giving it but I am more wondering about giving their sliding scale coverage (not meal coverage) to patients who will not have time to eat prior to dialysis but their BGM fits the criteria to receive insulin on the sliding scale.

we only hold BP meds on dialysis days.

We send their meal tray to dialysis.
