Should I get my EMT-B cert.?Rating: (votes: 0) Personally, I was able to take my EMT course along with a full course load and encountered no problems maintaining good grades. It also in no way negatively influenced my later progress in nursing school. If it is what you want to do, and you think that it will help you achieve your future goals, by all means do it. If you are worried about not being able to practice NCLEX-style questions because of your course load, my suggestion would be to download the NCLEX-RN Mastery app onto your phone. It has thousands of NCLEX style questions, and you can practice them anywhere. It'll come in handy when you are doing your EMT practicums, as you have quite a bit of downtime when you aren't on calls. Comment:
Thanks for the reply! I think I will do the course! There will be plenty of time for NCLEX questions some other time

I'm not sure what the other options are but you could always look into starting off as an EMR, the course would be far less rigorous and it would get you inn the right direction I don't plan to be a flight nurse, I actually whant to eventually be a psych NP, but I still plan to eventually get EMT certified, which I plan to do as a progression starting with emergency first responder certification. Good luck .

I would say go ahead. The EMT class is not anything too intense. Although just having the cert with no field time will mean absolutely nothing, most likely, when it comes to helping you with becoming a flight nurse.
