PCU vs Short Stay/Observation vs Surgical Acute Care

Just curious what are the nursing roles on these units. How different is the Surgical Unit compared to acute surgical unit? Same thing but also takes trauma patients? Is short stay/observation specific to ED patients? What does the patient population look like on a PCU? Any information is appreciated. I don't know much about these units
