Moving and giving notice advice needed!Rating: (votes: 0) ![]() I'm sure your giving them as much time as you could. You should be fine.Thank you to you and your wonderful husband for your service to our country Comment:
Talk to your manager ASAP. My hospital requires 30 days notice, but I would hope your facility would be more understanding given the reason for your move. Good luck and thank you for all you and your husband do for us!

I would wait until absolutely certain of your move date, then give the customary two weeks notice. If you can give 30 days notice, do that. Sometimes the move ends up getting delayed or even falling through, so you want a firm date to act on.

Of course tell them ASAP. If they begrudge you for your husband's military career the shame is on them! However for future jobs and your own sake you need to find out soon after you get a new job what their policy is regarding giving notice to quit. It should be somewhere in a policy and procedure manual. When I was supervisor I had a nurse come to me with a copy of the employees manual....how much notice was required (we were a union hospital), and say, "I'm giving notice, this is my last day...I won't be at work tonight." (or the rest of her schedule)! It was right there in the manual....no amount of notice was required!
