Haven't heard back on a job application.. is this a good sign?

I hope I don't jinx myself with this, but I applied for a job at a facility in mid April (4/14 to be exact) and have yet to hear anything back.

This facility is also really good about sending out emails if not considered for a position. I have applied a few times before and always got a "thanks but no thanks" email.

The interesting thing is that between 4/14 and now I have applied for another open position at this facility and I got a rejection email for THAT one but not the one from mid April.

I called the recruiter on 4/27 and left a message but she never got back to me. I plan on calling maybe late this week or early next week again just to see where I stand. Unfortunately, I cannot check my application status online.

Do you guys think this is a good sign that I didn't hear back yet?? I hope it is!

If any recruiters or hiring managers could weigh in on this I'd appreciate it!
It doesn't seem like a good sign to me...

Generally, if you're being considered, you would hear something by phone from HR or the hiring manager within a week or two of submission.

Just because you haven't gotten a rejection e-mail doesn't mean you're still up for the job. I have interviewed for many jobs & never heard back. Not a phone call or an e-mail. If they were considering you, they would've let you know by now.

Quote from daynuhAw man really? I was hoping that because I have ALWAYS gotten a rejection email before that NOT getting one for a little while was good haha. Either way I'll remain hopeful until I get that email haha. I haven't even been interviewed by them yet so maybe that's why I always get a courtesy email. Thanks for your response!

It depends on the facility. Some I have heard from a month later. Usually the larger the hospital system, the longer it takes to make its way through HR and to the hiring manager. Also, some apps don't make it through HR screening and get rejected sooner, while others don't get booted until the hiring manager goes through them.I also rarely got rejections, so that is interesting that the place you applied to sends them. That's nice that they don't leave you hanging.

If you applied online, you have to set up an account and it will show the status of all your applications for that hospital/system. It will say something like "Application received", "Not being considered", "Actively being considered". I had many that I got no response from them and had to go to the job website and look at the status of my application.
