Offered a Job but waiting on the second job

1 Hi everyone,
I had two job interviews yesterday. One of which is a telemetry unit and the other interview was a medical floor and a surgical floor. Which the later I like much much better. The first job interview called me with in 4 hours after my interview and offered me the job. I told them I would get back to them which I will, whether I accept or decline. The second job interview wont get back to me for TWO WEEKS!! WHAT SHOULD I DO???
Thanks!
If you wait the two weeks, you may find you have NO job. Have you considered that option? However, only you can decide whether passing on this job offer and holding out for the hope of being offered the other is worth that risk.

Comment:
Are they at two different hospitals, or the same? If the same, I would explain to HR that you are waiting for an offer from the second unit(they should already be aware you interviewed). Sometimes they'll be the middle person and explain that to the first unit, or tell the second you've got an offer and try to get things sped up a bit. It worked in my experience, at least! If not, did the first unit say when you'd be starting?

I would accept the first job and just try to postpone the orientation stuff . If u do get an offer from the medical surgical floor u can accept that and back out of the other job. Not really ideal but you have to look out for yourself and secure yourself a job

I took a risk and declined the first job interview's offer because the area was very city like and I am looking to move from a congested area, I want more rural, open land educational hospital. So I am waiting on the second job interview. I called the second hospital on Wednesday ( two days after my interview) and still havent heard anything yet. Wish me luck!

A was going to post a comment saying "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." but I digress. Good luck on the more rural job...hopefully you will get an offer soon.
