Nurse Esthestian is it worth it?

I am currently working in a surgery center working in pre op and PACU. I have just taken a 3-day course in botox and restylane injection. I have got a few chances to do injections for some of the doctors are my facility and I am interested in further my career by opening up my own beauty spa. I am currently making about $35/hr, it is considered to be a pretty well paid job in my state. If I open up my own store, I will probably have to hire a medical director. I am wondering how much I have to pay him or her? And do I have to order the botox and restylane through the medical director?
I don't mind the pay cut if I can have my own place and do my own job. I am excellent in customer service and I love taking care of people. My only issue I am sick of my coworkers. They are so lazy and they always call in sick. I feel that I can a much better job with them. I just want to start my own business and have more control of my life. Please give me some advise on this. I know I will probably not getting answers here since there are not of nurses in the cosmetic industry are on this website. I just hope that someone can give me a little bit of insight. Any information will help. Thanks!
A couple of random thoughts come to mind...My parents are self-employed so I have seen up close how many hours you need to put in to keep the business going.Are you in a position to work way more than full-time hours knowing that you might earn little or no money at first? How about the market of your area? Do you live in an upscale are where there will be demand for those services?
Make sure you are absolutely OK with your state's NPA & other regs for these services.... they vary widely by state. Engage with an appropriate legal advisor, hopefully one who is well versed in both business practices and healthcare services. Line up an insurance carrier - I understand that this can be fairly complex when it comes to a Med-Spa, depending on the type of services you provide. You'll also need to establish vendor accounts.... for all of your 'consumables', including meds used.Honestly, once you have a clear idea of all the up-front costs involved, you may discover that you'd be better off going into a partnership arrangement with physician or existing Med-Spa at first until you get established with a solid client base and reputation. In my part of the country, a lot of multi-specialty practices are starting to market 'esthetic' services... and they have contracted with folks to provide them (that could be you!).
