not sure if i'm qualified please advise

Hi everyone. I managed to find a position within the hospital that I really want. But according to the job bulletin, one of the requirements is to have at least 5 years of formal RN experience (ANY RN experience). Unfortunately for me, I only have 4 years and 3 months. I tried to apply online and this is one of the questions that I have to answer (either yes or no). I was hoping that I could convinced them in the interview that I could do the job well. But I am afraid that I would be disqualified early on the screening process and not even make it in the interview, if i checked no. Should I even apply, knowing that I would be disqualified in the application process?
They can't say no or yes unless you try. They may have had few candidates that would work, beef up your r�sum� and apply for the job.... My current job wanting all this experience I didn't have, I tried anyway and by some miracle I got it! What's the worst thing they can say??
Answer the question honestly then try to contact the nurse manager or whoever is doing the hiring and let them know of your interest and experience, also give them a copy of your resume.
Whatever you do, do NOT lie on the app. Even that small of a lie. You will be found out during the interview process, and that would not be pretty.Just answer honestly and if there's anywhere in the online app to free text, try to squeeze in how close you are to the 5 year requirement.
We here on AN have no idea how that employer set up their online application process. They may have built-in filters that automatically screen out anyone who does not meet certain criteria but there's no way for us to know.
