Classes to take while looking for an RN job

Hi! I had my BSN outside the US and i passed my RN here in the US almost a year ago, i worked at a skilled nursing facility for 8 months and i am now unemployed. I really like to work in a hospital setting but it is very hard to get in. While searching for an RN hospital job, i renewed my BLS and will take my ACLS class next week, is there any classes that you know I can take while i'm looking for a job that can help me set a foot on the door at the hospital? My bf was talking about from RN to phlebotomy, i dont know if thats a good idea? do you know any other classes? pls help. thank you.

It is very unlikely that an RN will be hired in a subordinate level job such as phlebotomy or any other unlicensed role because he/she would still be accountable for adhering to the RN standards of practice, no matter the job title. This obviously would be an enormous headache & potential liability issue for the employer. What about an EKG course or PICC certification? These skills are valuable in an acute care setting.
