Do hospitals count PRN as experience? Is it looked at differently than part time?

I am interested in working at a hospital as a CNA while in nursing school. I have worked home health before and was going to work assisted living until I realized that hospitals do not recognize either as work experience needed to be a hospital nurse aid. I now have a CNA PRN position. Do hospitals count CNA PRN work experience at a long term care facility as the necessary 6 month work experience required to be a nurse aid at a hospital ??
I find it odd that your prior experience in Home care would not be recognized by hospital employers. Normally, any paid work experience is applicable. If you work PRN, I would advise you to keep track of how many hours you work - so you can provide this information to a prospective employer because otherwise, they would not know exactly how to convert your PRN job to the 6 month requirement. FWIW, 6 months full-time = 1040 hours. Best of luck to you with job hunting & nursing school.
