Interview at hospital for PCT position but no experience

I recently got am email for a phone interview for the hospital I have been volunteering at. This position is for PCT, the problem is that I have no experience at all as a CNA/PCT.

Is that a deal breaker when it comes to getting the job at a hospital?

I tried applying for CNA jobs at nursing homes and such, but all the interviews ended with they want someone with experience. Makes me wonder if they even looked at my resume when they ask me for an interview.

Anyone ever got a job without experience in a hospital? Last edit by MikeDee1234 on Nov 9, '13
I would say if they invited you to interview, you have a shot, experience or no. Obviously you have demonstrated in your volunteer work a personality that tells them they might like to work with you. The tasks of the job can be taught but ability to get along with others and work ethic cannot. You bring a lot of value to the table if they perceive these things in you.
Comment:
I started out as a pct in a hospital. I had no experience. Of course, my mom was and still is one of their best RNs. Most of my coworkers had no experience when they started. They train you. It's MUCH easier than being an stna in a nursing home. If I could go back in time, I'd have never become a nurse. I wish I'd stayed a pct at the hospital! I think you have a good chance. Good luck!!
