Outpatient vs. InpatientRating: (votes: 0) I graduated this past winter with my BSN and while I passed the NCLEX, I've had a really hard time finding a job. I really want to work inpatient, but after 4 months of applying to hundreds of positions, I've only managed to hear back from outpatient positions. Will it be possible to get an inpatient job after starting in outpatient? Would it be better to wait it out? How long until I'm too "old" of a new grad to get any response? Unfortunately I'm not in a position where I can move to another area to start my job hunt, so that isn't an option, and I've been doing the best I can to network into a position. Appreciate all your opinions! If offered the job you should take it and see if you like it. Every new nurse wants to work in a hospital but it simply isn't possible and the job market is very competitive for nurses in general. Some nurses love the outpatient setting and hours, at least give it a shot. Comment: TAKE THE JOB!!!
