Finding Ambulatory Nurse position?Rating: (votes: 0) I think that the basic problem is that these types of settings really don't have sufficient training resources - so they need to hire staff who already have the right skill set. You could become CEN (emergency dept) certified - even though ENA recommends 2 years of related experience, it is not a requirement to sit for this exam. Comment: I curently work in an Ambulatory Care setting. I was picked up as a new grad (the only place that gave me the chance) and I love it. Most Urgent Care setting welcome RNs from the hospital setting. Just be aware, the pay rate is lower especially compared to the Acute setting
