I am a R.N. student that graduates in December of 2014. I am interested in joining the U.S. Navy once I graduate. It is a 3 year commitment. I am interested in doing this to gain critical care experience. What are some pro's and con's of becoming a Navy R.N.?
Government / Military NursingStart here.Critical care experience is going to be more and more difficult to come by as the war winds down. Slots are getting competitive and are going to those nurses who have more time in service. Also, as a new grad, most of the military branches will not accept you without some experience at this time. Those that are still accepting new grads are doing so in very small, competitive numbers.
