Going back to a facility you left

Has anyone ever returned to a facility you left to work elsewhere? If so, did your previous place of employment accept you back, especially if you left on decent terms? I'm applying for a non-bedside job at a facility I worked at before but I hated working as a bedside nurse at this same facility. Now I'm looking for jobs in nursing informatics, which is what I wish to stay in for the long term. Will it look bad that I want to come back after not even a year?
People will make comments about why you are coming back. But just do not mind them. In the hospital where I work I have seen 2 or more nurses came back after 2 years or so. As long as they take you back. That shouldn't be a prob.
I left a facility and came back 7 months later!! I left on good terms and received a warm welcome back!
