Make Applications Stand OutRating: (votes: 0) I'm looking for ways to make my resume stand out. I started on a step-down unit, was there for two years, then moved states and started in a CVICU two years ago. I had every intention of going to CRNA school...then I changed my mind. I have no idea what I want to do--maybe teach or possibly NP but it won't be for a few years at least. What I do know though is that I don't love where I live. My husband and I want to relocate to California: I have family in San Francisco and San Diego. We'd love to go to either place. I applied for a few jobs in ICU's in both cities but never heard back. I have my CCRN-CMC-CSC certifications, I work as a charge nurse, precept new hires and students, I take all of the sickest patients including VADs, CRRT, IABP, etc., and I know I can get outstanding recommendations from doctors, my supervisors, and coworkers. I also float down to the emergency room every few weeks and will sometimes work as house supervisor (to be honest, I hate both of those jobs and really just want to be in ICU but I am a team player). Any suggestions on what else I can add/do to improve my resume and hopefully start hearing back? I don't want to go to med/surg or really any other specialty; ICU is my home. |
