Union info & Input Regarding Chicago hospital (UIC)

Hi,

I am a new nurse and I was just wondering if anyone has worked or is working at University of Illinois Medical Center. I really am interested in working there, and met with a manager who seemed to like me (though I don't know if she's able to hire me or not, yet). Anyways, I know they're unionized (and on the verge of striking) and was wondering how this might affect nursing/patient care at UIC. I've never worked at a union hospital before, so I'm not very familiar with the process.

Also, aside from that, does any one have input or has heard anything about what it's like working at UIC?
