Alternative to N95 mask for TB?

Rating:
(votes: 0)

I seem to have developed a reaction to the N95 mask. My employee health department is of no help. I've heard there are hoods available but haven't found any info on them.

Anyone know of any alternatives to the N95 mask for protection against TB?

Thanks!
They are called PAPR systems and there is one made by 3M that is pretty comfortable. Unfortunately they also cost about $1200.http://www.envirosafetyproducts.com/...-Assembly.html

Comment:
Try elastomeric masks (hypoallergenic face cover) with replaceable filters ?

Comment:
Do you have any history of latex sensitivity? The N95 you have been using may contain latex. There are latex free N95 respirators available. The 3M 1870 is latex free, the 3M 1860 is latex free, and the Kimberly Clark PFR95 N95 is latex free. Switching to a latex free respirator might help...

Yes agree...you need to try a different brand and type...we have 3 brands and types for that very reason. Once you find the one that works for you...THEY NEED to accommodate your special need. NO mask provided that works...you do not go in the room!
