Tenneesee jobs for RN's?

I currently live in Florida. I am a new RN. My husband and I are planning on relocating to either Maine or Tenneesee. I prefer TN myself. I will have one year experience before our planned move and I am wondering what is the average pay for RN's in a hospital setting, nursing home, and in office setting.

How is the job market?
what about lay offs? ( I keep hearing about these)
