Murphy's Law?

5 I just completed my last day on a unit that I am leaving. I am staying at the same hospital, but going to another unit offering me a much better schedule.

My last day at this place was AWFUL in every sense of the word. One patient leaving his room to go to another pt's room and yell at him for making noise. You already know the rest of the story I imagine. Yes, the noise maker was a confused man in his 90s, an amputee at that. Nice one tuff guy, you just gone done telling off a 90 year old one legged man. Another lady, NPO, fell while trying to get to the sink to........yes........drink water. An obnoxious family member calling me to talk about a person who's been gone for hours THAT I NEVER TOOK CARE OF........calling about simple tiff things I was not interested in, seemed like they just wanted to chat. Transfered a pt. to ICU whose LOC dropped significantly. All the while, working an assignment different than the one I had the night before cause some confused idiot pt. blamed me for not getting her meds. The meds were due at 2000, I started work at 2300, HOW IS IT MY FAULT YOUR MEDS ARE LATE? Dumb ass.

Nights like this make me hate nursing. Sad part is, I KNEW it was going to happen my last day on that filthy unit. So glad to be done with it.
Well, you certainly won't regret leaving! More of a reason to move on, start fresh, and never look back.

Enjoy the daylight working hours! Also, you can be assured that you will not have to deal with another one of those crazy full moon night shifts in a very long time.

It's so bad it's funny I also must have missed the lecture on how to accomplish time travel in nursing school too hehe.

Since I am Irish, Murphy follows me everywhere and is a big part of my life. Can't get away from the guy.

Good luck in the new unit on days. Go get your vitamin D.
