Spitting is assault, and assault of a health care worker is a felony in my state, so I'm all for this individual having been charged with a crime. However, Hep C requires blood exposure for transmission.http://www.cdc.gov/hepatitis/ChooseC.htm
Comment:
Even though it requires blood transmission, the man THOUGHT it could be transmitted through saliva...in which case the intent was still there.I like the attempted murder charge.

And if his gums were bleeding? Or he'd bit his tongue...or the inside of his lip? Or had post nasal drip from a nose bleed?

Quote from leslie :-Dstill, his bloody sputum would have had to land in an orifice or open wound of the target.i agree, it's about intent.i'd like to see him given double doses of scopolamine/atropine.leslie
