Fabulous nurse

1 OK, I may be thinned skinned, but is anyone else a little put off by the "Fabulous Nurse" ad with the nurse twirling in her strapless white uniform dress while holding her white nurse's cap with the red cross on it?
After all of the threads, blogs, letters and complaints about the negative way the "sexy nurse" stereotype pictures us in a less than professional way, it is disappointing to see it here in an ad directed at nurses.
This upsets me too!Nursing is by far not a sexy profession!Getting puked on, cleaning up crap,seeing blood,and all the knowledge I have to know is not sexy.This drives me up the wall to see this sexy naughty nurse thing going on.It is so annoying!!!!

I have SOOOO wanted to post this same thread a hundred times. Good for you! Yes I am definitely put off by this ad.

What? There's a "naughty nurse" ad here at AN? I've never seen it, gosh darn it!

There's also an ad for some online college, that has a photo of an attractive young Hispanic woman in a blue scrub top, giving "come hither" eyes. That ad always struck me as being like the beginning of a nurse-based porno.

I'm sorry everyone; If I had known they would put those pictures all over the internet I never would have gone to the photo shoot!

Not to discourage any ogling of totally realistic nurses, but if you use firefox, dowload adblock plus...it is AMAZING. I kinda sound like a spammer, but really, no sexy nurses with tousled hair for THIS girl...

I want to roll my eyes when a male pt comes to the hospital with the notion that his nurse is going to be THAT nurse.

Anyone who has visited a hospital recently knows there is nothing "sexy" or "provocative" about a nurse. People are going to think what they want to think. It is what it is. I have learned to choose my battles with the stigma of healthcare.
