Patient with Ascites receiving insulin

1 Just wondering, is it contraindicated for a diabetic patient who has ascites to receive insulin in the abdomen?
You might be able to distribute the ascites by rolling the patient onto his or her side, but I would be more likely to use an alternate site.

Comment:
Yep, when a pt has ascites, I always *Assume that a med will not be well absorbed in abd...and pick a diff. site.

Comment:
Yes, it is contraindicated.

Comment:
I rarely give insulin in the abd. But, in this case I believe it's not a wise choice.
