blood pressure cuff allergyRating: (votes: 0) I do not need medical advice, etc. I was just wondering if anyway has heard of this. TIA for help ![]() Sure. Vinyl allergy. There are non-vinyl BP cuffs available. Comment:
Might also be a latex allergy, as the bulb and tubing can be made from latex.
Comment:
I haven't. But it might be the material its made of if its possible
Comment:
That's what I meant. Latex allergy! Duhhh to me!

thanks for help. thats what I thought but no matter where I bring my mom, and a reaction happens, the docs/ nurses/etc act suprised and have never heard of it! appreciate your confirmation!
Comment:
there are sleeves to use that go on the arm, underneath the cuff. We use them on our patients.

It's also possible that there is an allergy to either what people use to clean it, or (more likely, since I don't think they get cleaned very often) the collective goo from other people.

bilateral..... usually itchy and red for a cpl hours.
Comment:
Could it be the constriction, rather than the actual cuff contact, that is the culprit?
