Time management

Being a nursing student transitioning into the work force what are some suggestions about time management while on the floor?
Never go into a pts room for just one thing. Group your care.

I find a "to do" list helpful, check tasks off as I go.

There are lots of threads on this, you can do a search and come up with a ton of info on AN.

Ifound it helpful to create a grid with the hours across the top and room numbers to the left (Y axis). Then I placed in the grid things that were scheduled. That way I could determine priorities. So if the patient had a dressing change due at 10 and meds at 9 I could group them together and get it all done at once.
