Leaving an epidural catheter inHello,I had a patient with low platlets who was given an epidural during labor. Although we discontinued the infusion, I was instructed by the CRNA not to remove the catheter for 12 hours or until we had new labs to determine her platlet count. At 4 EncouragementI've been out of school about almost 6 years now. I tried the NCLEX RN twice and did not pass. I was a bright student both in class and in the hospital. If they don't void, we do a bladder scan and determine the need for straight cath depending on what the scan shows.
