Dilemma!Rating: (votes: 0) I don't know if many of my fellow new grads would consider this a dilemma... They may even call this a blessing instead, the way the market is for us new graduates... I just graduated this May with my BSN and have an interview lined up next week for an ED position. I have a prior BA in psych and while in nursing school have worked as a crisis screener at my local hospital's ED. Today I was called by my supervisor, urging me to apply for a part time RN position that is available on our psychiatric unit. I don't mind psych but feel there is little clinical use involved in comparison to the ED, or any other areas of nursing. The ED position is no guarantee as I still have yet to even interview, but on the contrary my supervisor has made it seem as if the psych position is mine if interested. My question is, should I apply to the psych position anyway? Or should I wait and see first how my interview for the ED position goes first? I know I should be thankful for not only 1 but 2 potential job offers, I just want to make sure I make the right moves, as I don't want to burn any bridges. Thanks in advance! I'd interview for both and see what happens. Comment:
Same hospital? If so, they'd understand you'll pick what works best for you. Different hospitals? Apply for both because you can't count on getting one or the other.
Comment:
I'd do both....then choose. You never know which one will appeal more in the interview process..

You can never go to enough interviews!

Thanks guys!
