Do Nurses Have to Make Their Home Addresses Public?Rating: (votes: 0) Of course not. Why would you think that we would? Comment:
I'm not sure what you are talking about? My employer knows my address and so does the BON but no one else..
Comment:
In Ohio your City of residence is public along with your name and license #, but nothing else.

Sorry i'm talking about the nursing boards. I was told that we can be looked up by our name on our state's nursing website?
Comment:
Indiana used to publish your home address with your license information. Not any longer. I am not sure if other states do this or not but I always thought it was a dumb idea and an invasion of my privacy.

however, if someone has your name, it's pretty easy to get your address online, whether an agency posts it or not...

Quote from kloneYou can, but as far as I know, no state board websites will provide your home address. Your state BON has that info, but they don't provide it to the public.

I also object to this posting of our information but in Ga and Fla. I know for sure it's done.

When I inquired with the Board in CA, I was told there is a way to block your address being provided to members of the public on your written request. A specific term was used, but I don't remember it. However, I have always distrusted this information. Generally, the public will be provided your address of record. This fact is stated on the application for licensure in CA.
Comment:
Yikes. I'm glad I've only lived in states where that info is not provided!
Comment:
Ok, in SC anyone can look up your name and license # along with any actions against you because it is public record. But in SC they do not show your address or any other info.. Just name, license # and if you are in good standing or not..
